Every so often we witness the impatience of ourselves and other people. Just how many times have we heard our parents say “It’s not time yet”? How many of us have been in the situation of saying those exact same words to someone, without bad intentions? In both cases, we always knew the follow-up question “And when will it be time?” That is something that only time shows us – the right moment and the right place for what we have been dreaming and thinking about for years to finally turn into reality.
One of the greatest enemies of humanity is the lack of patience.
My meadow and my discovery
Many meadows, in the beautiful land of Serbia, remember my footprints. I picked field flowers on lots of meadows. However, not one of them gave birth to Lavina Natural Cosmetics. It had to go through an entire life cycle, in order for Lavina Natural Cosmetics to find its meadow.
What would have happened if, by any chance, I had set foot on “my meadow” ten or fifteen years ago? Would that one spark in me have been ignited then and would the idea of natural cosmetics have been born? Most likely not.
When I look at the world around me, I realize how fast it has become. Things are happening at an incredible speed, everything is changing, and we have less and less time for each other and the things we really love. When I see everyone running about, and they don’t get anywhere on time, only then I am sure it’s a good thing that I didn’t set foot on “my meadow” earlier, because the current speed of the world would have broken me as well. A whole life cycle of chasing after money, building a home, raising children, setting high goals, had to pass. Time had to pass, in order for me to learn to calm down and be patient.
It would be wonderful if we all knew how important and beautiful it is to live day by day while we wait for the “right time” to set foot on our own meadow, instead of running headlong and trampling on someone else.
I was awarded “my meadow”. It is no longer synonymous with “now is the time”. It is real, permanent, immovable. Every year I return to it, to thank it once again for igniting that spark in me, which burns brighter every time I make a recipe for a new cosmetic product of Lavina Natural Cosmetics.
On the property of the Rača Monastery, near Manastirski Stanovi, on Mount Tara, next to the equestrian club “Dora” – that’s where you’ll find me every summer, in my meadow. You will recognize me by the boots and the hat on my head, picking medicinal herbs in the midday sun, for Lavina Natural Cosmetics, intended for all of you.
Don’t forget, sometimes it’s important to let life guide us a little and show us the way. Patience and persistence combined with experience and a desire to learn and improve is a great start, whatever your ultimate goal might be.
