SOAPS

Soaps are present in our lives to such an extent that, almost like air or water, they have become an integral part of our lives and are simply taken for granted. Like water and air, which we sometimes talk about being polluted, we treat soaps the same way and continue to use them. As soaps are an inherent factor of everyday life and as we seem to have no choice, commercial manufacturers give themselves more and more freedom in the wide range of raw materials available to them for making industrial soaps, regardless of their harmfulness to the human body, and their only goal is to produce the cheapest possible soaps, from the cheapest possible raw materials, in order to be as competitive as possible on the market. Just because there are expensive soaps on the market, does not mean that they differ in many ways from cheap soaps; they are definitely harmful to us, but they are owned by famous brands, hence their price being higher.

We will not talk about the detailed content of commercial soaps here, but we will point out one raw material, which every commercially produced soap, shampoo, toothpaste or detergent has, and is the common denominator for all personal hygiene products that produce foam – that is SLS – sodium lauryl sulfate or SLES, which you will find in the contents of every foaming and degreasing product.

Harmful ingredients in personal hygiene products

SLS or sodium lauryl sulfate is an agent that is easily absorbed through the skin, accumulates in the eyes, brain, liver, heart, damages the mucous membrane, causes stomach ulcers, dries the skin. These are just some of the harmful effects on the internal organs of the human body, caused by using commercial soaps. SLS is a substance used for degreasing in auto repair shops and is harmful to use on our skin.

In order to preserve your health, we will use one easy-to-remember definition: all handmade soaps are good, all commercial soaps are harmful.

For handmaking soaps, there is a clearly defined table of the ratio of caustic soda, water and natural oils, and the soaps made this way are good, useful and harmless for use. Many of the soaps made this way, by Lavina Cosmetics, contain additional healthy ingredients and, in practical application, have shown exceptional results in the treatment of eczema, psoriasis, inflammatory processes on the skin, and in skin care.

NaOH – caustic soda, is a product used to make handmade soaps and does not belong to the raw materials that are included in the composition of natural cosmetics, but due to its healthy and useful properties, it is usually used as part of natural and healthy cosmetics. Caustic soda is used for the process of saponification and is a completely harmless ingredient as it evaporates during soap maturation.
